Chapter 13 - Randall Did Not File for Divorce That Week

Everyone expected him to.
He didn't.
Not immediately.
He moved out.
Separated finances.
Removed Avalon's access.
Hired accountants.
Started therapy alone.
Then couples counseling.
Not because stealing was romantic.
Because twelve years of marriage deserved examination before demolition.
Some people hated that.
His friends told him to leave.
Mine told me Avalon should go to prison.
Perhaps legal consequences would come.
That was separate.
Marriage was his decision.
I refused to make it for him.
For once.
Months later Randall asked:
“Would you forgive her?”
Wrong question.
“I don't know.”
“Would you stay?”
“Not my marriage.”
He looked frustrated.
