Travel records placing Victoria near Lake Tahoe.

Caretaker payroll.
Medical records created for Emily under false names.
Payments routed through Victor-controlled entities.
Samuel Roth’s custody of Charles’s original ledger.
Emily’s own account was critical, but prosecutors did not ask a jury to rely on her alone.
The special committee conducted a separate investigation.
Its preliminary findings concluded that Victoria and Victor had repeatedly circumvented governance controls and concealed related-party transactions.
Victor resigned before the report was completed.
Victoria refused.
Independent directors began the process required under the company’s governing documents to remove her from committee authority and family-office functions.
It took weeks.
Exactly as it should.
Emily’s legal status also had to be repaired piece by piece.
Connecticut opened proceedings regarding the false death record.
Her Social Security status required correction.
Accounts had to be restored.
Insurance records had to be unwound.
She discovered that becoming legally alive again involved more paperwork than being declared dead.
Through it all, Sophie learned to walk.
Her first three steps happened in the protected apartment between Emily and a coffee table.
Michael was there.
He did not touch Emily.
She reached for his hand first.
