Neither did Ben’s.
Investigations took time.
The recording mattered.
Medical documentation mattered.
Witness statements mattered.
Digital access records mattered.
The lender handled Renee’s conduct through its own compliance and employment procedures.
She eventually left the company.
Her relationship with Ben collapsed almost immediately after financing died.
Gary stopped pretending he knew nothing.
Dana cooperated where required and lived with the fact that fear—not courage—had finally made her tell the truth.
The Bennett business survived in smaller form.
One restaurant remained.
The catering operation continued.
Properties were sold.
Debt restructured.
Nobody starved.
Linda nevertheless told everyone:
“Nora took everything.”

I stopped giving them access to mine.
There is a difference.
The divorce took more than a year.
Custody evaluation was careful because Ben remained Ellie’s father.
He had not thrown the coffee.
He had also created the provocation plan, protected Linda afterward, and misused my financial information.
