Several executives resigned.
Two port officials were indicted.
Pritchard pleaded guilty to conspiracy and obstruction charges after investigators confronted him with years of payments.
Sebastian continued insisting Nathaniel had fabricated the story to seize the family empire.
Then Claire testified.
Not about things she didn’t know.
Only what she did.
Her original security-design work.
The structure of the encoded markings.
The fact that Sebastian’s shell company had commissioned the visual system.
Her presence outside Warehouse Seven.
Her suppressed witness statement.
Eric’s threats.
The ledger.
She spoke for three hours.
When she finished, Nathaniel waited outside the courthouse.
“You didn’t need to come,” she said.
“I know.”
“You had meetings.”
“I moved them.”
She looked at him.
“Why?”
Nathaniel appeared genuinely confused by the question.
“Because you were in there.”
It was such a simple answer that Claire had to look away.
Weeks later, Nathaniel announced a complete restructuring of Whitmore Maritime.
Independent compliance oversight.
External audits.
Victim-compensation funds funded from recovered criminal profits.
Permanent separation between the company and every organization tied to Sebastian.
Someone suggested changing the company name.
Nathaniel refused.
At first Claire wondered why.
Then he explained.
“Sebastian used the Whitmore name to hide what he was.”
He looked at Julian’s photograph.
“I’m going to make it mean something else.”
